Dr. Kristin Scaplen
Principal Investigator
Dr. Scaplen is an Assistant Professor of Neuroscience at Bryant University and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Neuroscience at Brown University. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology from the University of Connecticut. She received her PhD in Neuroscience from Brown University.

Research Assistant
Skylar joined the lab in January of 2025 as a Research Assistant. They graduated from the UMASS in 2024.

Mila joined the lab in the Summer of 2024 and is interested in the impact of social experiences on alcohol consumption.

Lab Alumni
Ramsha Gul, `25 Biology. Ramsha joined the lab in 2021 and participated in RI-INBRE SURF program in 2022, 2023, and 2024. She is working as a medical assistant for a year as she prepares her medical school applications.
Katelyn Caldarone, `24 Psychology. Katelyn joined the lab in 2021 and participated in RI-INBRE SURF program in 2022, and 2023. She is currently a Neuroscience PhD student at the University of Florida.
Lotte Guitink, `24 Psychology. Lotte is a graduate student at Maastricht University focusing her studies on cognitive neuroscience.
Gabrielle Martino `24 Health Sciences. Gabi recently graduated with a Masters in Public Health from Dartmouth College and is currently a graduate intern at Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital
Teagan Alexander `24 Biology and Psychology
Erika Cortez is currently a Neuroscience PhD student at the University of Connecticut.
Tanner Alexander `24 Biology. Tanner completed a Psychology Directed Study in the Fall of 2023. He intends to apply to medical school soon after graduation.
Taryn Rauff `23 Biology, Taryn joined the lab in the summer of 2021. She participated in RI-INBRE SURF program 2021 and 2022 and is currently applying to graduate school.
